Sandy Creek Friends - Friends

The Friends of Sandy Creek Conservation Park is affiliated with the Friends of Parks Inc and is run in accordance with the regulations of that body.

The group elects a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer at an annual general meeting usually held in July.  Accounts are submitted to the Friends of Parks Inc at the end of the financial year.

The group meets monthly (except in January when it’s too hot!!) for a working bee followed by a meeting.  See Activities for information on the type of things that we do at working bees and Coming Events for meeting dates and times.

The group is supported by the South Australian Parks and Wildlife service which provides some tools and materials but, more importantly, guidance from the local rangers.

The activities of the Friends are funded largely through grants.  These grants allow us to purchase equipment (eg a GPS) or contract professionals to perform surveys, control weeds, or just to teach us about the park.

Our membership ranges from students to retirees.

Although we have regular working bees some of the best work in the park is done by our members in “there own time”.  If you have the time and want to do something good for the environment, then we can keep you busy!
